Body Characteristics

The Korat Cat has been known for its medium size and this has been a deciding factor for many owners of this breed. Its build is best described as well-shaped, well-built, and robust. While weighing between 10 lbs to 14 lbs the Korat Cat breed might be just what you are looking for. With its outer layer often described as thin, soft, and sleek; The Korat Cat is truly a marvelous creature with its own refined beauty. Their fur (or skin) may come in colors such as blue and silver; which can make them very unique among their peers. The Korat Cat breed has a medium length tail. This is due to its origins and the genetics that were thought out when the cat was originally bred. This is another breed that has rather large sized eyes, but this is not the most predominate feature of the Korat Cat breed; because it has so many other qualities that draw one’s attention.

Temperament

Korat Cat breeds adapt immediately to their new environment. They have no physical or emotional when moving into a new home! An owner should not expect this cat to adapt quickly to new friendships with humans. It does not seem to like to make new human friends. Despite their occasional curiosities, the Korat Cat breed often prefers to live in solitude instead of being social, but does occasionally enjoy some interaction with their owners. Owners have said that their Korat Cat spends a lot of time with their children. They have also stated that the cat remains loving no matter how aggressive the children’s actions may be towards it. The Korat Cat loves to be around dogs! So much so, that it could be said that the cat sees the dogs as family! This cat breed lives to love. Owners can expect their Korat Cat to show a lot of affection towards them. This cat breed can be quite rambunctious. Owners should not be surprised to find their Korat Cat romping around the house throughout the day. This breed has a moderate energy level. They can be very active compared to other breeds, but not all the time. The Korat Cat is an above average cat because of its intelligence. This cat is pretty smart.

Maintanence

Owners of Korat Cats have to spend quite some time each week grooming the cats outer layer and will also have to make sure to bathe the cat regularly and trim its nails. Many owners have said that their Korat Cat sheds a moderate amount, but that it is easy to clean up after. Health issues in the Korat Cat breed are uncommon, though they do occur on a rare occasion. As with all pets, owners should expect health problems to occur as the pet gets older. Common health problems for the Korat Cat breed are GM-1 Gangliosidosis, GM-2 Gangliosidosis, and Tapeworm. People with cat allergies, are taking a risk by being in contact with Korat Cat breed. It may cause an allergic reaction. Annually, the Korat Cat breed will cost their owner around $1025 for upkeep. This does not include the initial purchase price that ranges between $700 – $800.
